Brent Kim, MHS
Brent Kim is a Project Officer for the Farming for the Future program at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF). The program works to address the environmental and public health impacts of industrial agriculture, promote more sustainable alternatives, and raise awareness about the links between public health and agriculture.
Brent joins Leo Horrigan, Jesse Kurtz-Nicholl and colleagues in developing high school lesson plans on food system issues, soon to be available online. His other responsibilities include managing the Community Supported Agriculture Project, assisting with the Agriculture and Public Health Gateway and researching tools for measuring the environmental impacts of food production. He is also the web developer for the American Public Health Association’s (APHA) Food & Environment Working Group.
In 2008, Brent completed an MHS in International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Brent has a diverse background in teaching, technology and the arts that includes working as a digital artist on numerous award-winning historical video games, assisting with the electronic medical records database at Partners in Health and teaching language and mathematics in Boston and India.
In his spare time, Brent enjoys gardening at Baltimore’s Real Food Farm, growing tomatoes on his fire escape and developing educational games about sustainable agriculture.
