Beth J. Feingold

bethBeth is working towards her PhD in Environmental Health Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is interested in the way that landscapes, notably urban and agricultural landscapes, influence health. Beth has a background in environmental science and geology which continue to inform her current work. She is a Pre-Doctoral Fellow with the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future. Her dissertation focuses on answering geospatial questions related to determining relevant environmental exposures from concentrated animal feeding operations. She is also active in projects assessing the health impacts of the Baltimore zoning code re-write. In the summer of 2010, she is teaching a course on Environmental Health and Justice in Baltimore in the Johns Hopkins “Discover Hopkins” program in which students will learn the principles of environmental health sciences through exploring local environmental justice case studies. She is very excited for this and promises to blog about it.
